Cynthia Johnson-Oliver
Founder

For Cynthia, the vision of the FaithJustice Foundation emerged as a way to combine lifelong passions of social justice and Christian formation/discipleship, pastoral and prophetic ministry to build strong congregations that engage in justice ministries that impact communities and the world. She is an ordained elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church. For ten years, she served as associate pastor for adult discipleship at Annandale United Methodist Church (on loan), where she started the Academy of Discipleship and the FaithJustice Forum. She also served as Episcopal District and Regional Director of Evangelism for the New York Washington Region, CME Church. In 2017, she began expanding the FaithJustice Forum into a nonprofit organization.

Her previous positions include National Organizer for Health Care Justice at the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society, Coordinator of Faith-Based Outreach at the Democratic National Committee, National Director of Youth Ministry for the CME Church, Assistant Pastor at Israel Metropolitan CME Church in Washington, DC, and Co-Pastor of the Black Church at Yale.

Rev. Johnson-Oliver received an AB degree magna cum laude in Comparative Religion from Harvard-Radcliffe College, a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard Divinity School, and a Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School. She has been a national speaker at churches, conferences, workshops, and trainings.

Danielle Goldstone
Acting President

Danielle is Founder of innoFaith, a multi-faith network and platform for social innovation where interfaith collaboration is fostered. She is also a social impact consultant with over 20 years of experience in the global social change and social innovation fields. As Senior Advisor to Ashoka, the world's largest network of leading social entrepreneurs, she helps select new Ashoka Fellows around the world and has built an Integrity infrastructure for the organization to balance risk-taking with risk management. She was the founding director of Ashoka’s global Empathy Initiative and the associated Changemaker Schools network, which grew to over 25 countries on five continents. Danielle also served as Ashoka's Legal Director, helped launch Ashoka in East Africa and the Middle East/North Africa region, and was interim regional representative for Ashoka in francophone West Africa. Her background additionally includes policy advocacy, as well as human rights analysis related to the U.S. war on terrorism. She has written on the topics of the International Criminal Court's involvement in Uganda and the importance of empathy for social change. She serves as President of the Boards of the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington and the FaithJustice Foundation. Danielle has a B.A. in economics and international relations from Stanford University, and a Juris Doctor, Master of Theological Studies, and Graduate Certificate in Human Rights from Emory University, where she was Editor in Chief of the Emory International Law Review. She is an attorney, admitted to the New York Bar. 

Kevin Agee
Board Member

Rev. Kevin J. Agee is Presiding Elder, Washington-Virginia District, Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and Pastor of Russell Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

He has also pastored churches in Halifax, VA, Waterbury, CT, Bridgeport, CT, Jersey City, NJ, Syracuse, NY, Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. Presiding Elder Agee’s awards for social justice advocacy include the 2008 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major for Justice from the Jersey City Branch NAACP, the 2013 Freedom Award from the Syracuse Onondaga Branch NAACP, and the 2014 Racial Justice Catalyst Award from the Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism of Interfaith Works of Central New York. He is presently involved with the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Coming to the Table in Front Royal, VA. Reverend Agee and his wife, Gwen have two adult sons and five grandchildren.  

 

Harry Day
Secretary

Harry has a Ph.D. in Personality and Social Psychology from Cornell University. He has had an interest in human personal and social behavior from a cross-cultural perspective throughout his career in program evaluation and applied social research. He also has had a drive for spiritual growth since childhood. Leading the Exploring Faith Class for more than 20 years has been a significant opportunity for the Holy Spirit to nurture spiritual growth in him and others.

Susan Clarke
Treasurer

Susan has a BA in Math and Education from Trinity University and a BBA from the University of Texas in Accounting. She is a CPA and worked in corporate accounting in Texas and the DC area for 25 years. Fueled by a lifelong interest in teaching, Susan transitioned to education and spent 10 rewarding years teaching high school math with Fairfax County, Virginia. Susan has been a member of Annandale United Methodist Church for over 30 years where she has served as chair of the Finance Committee, Chief Teller, and Treasurer of the United Methodist Women. In retirement, she has traveled extensively with friends and family, and while at home, she loves to cook, read, and bike. Susan is married with two grown sons.
